How to create standard Dashboard

Open "KanBans" tab and click “New” button in the upper right corner of the page to open Kanban creation wizard:

At the first step Kanban Creation Wizard:

  • Enter Kanban name.

  • Select type "Standard".

  • Populate description (if it is necessary).

  • Click "Next" button.

At the second step:

  • Select theme (here user can see preview of themes; click on picture to see in full size).

  • Click "Next" button or "Back" button (in case you need to change something on previous step).

At the next step you can set up initial Kanban configuration, if necessary.

  • Leave "Empty Dashboard" option selected if you plan to set up columns, cards and layouts later

  • Select "Use SObject" option If you prefer to have columns, cards and layouts generated for some object. "Source Object" picklist will appear. Select object there:

  • Two sections will appear - "Columns configuration" and "Card Configuration":

Columns configuration section contains one picklist with fields which cards can be grouped by into columns:

  • Select a field. A list of "Available Values" will be shown.

  • Select fields to be shown on card compact layout and rearrange them, if necessary.

Note: topmost field will be used as card header, that will be always visible on card layout (actual for collapsible cards)

  • Click "Next" button:

Note: you should select at least one field, and not more than 12. But you can add more when configure card manually later.

  • At the last step you can review your Kanban brief summary information

  • Click "Save" or "Back" button (if you want to correct options):

After clicking "Save" you will go to standard Kanban editor. It will be empty, if you did not set initial configuration:

In case if you set initial configuration, editor will have kanban with most of elements configured.

Columns with conditions set correspondingly to Column Configuration settings of the creation wizard:

Card will have elements added correspondingly to Card Configuration settings of the creation wizard.

First (topmost) of them will be used as card header. Other fields will be added with labels corresponding to field name:

Card also will have main layout set with body, header title, and footer button with standard "View record" handler:

Note: card dragging will not be automatically set, as far as no actions will be configured. You should set them manually in Kanban editor.
