How to Create Standard or Child Dashboard

Open "Kanbans" tab and click “New” button in the upper right corner of the page to open Kanban creation wizard:

At the first step select kanban type. If you want to insert a kanban into some record page and filter cards by this record (e.g., show only cases related for an Account you look at), select a Child Kanban, otherwise select Standard Kanban.

The difference between Standard and Child kanban is that Child kanban offers to add some code in column conditions that allow this kanban to automatically display records related to some other record only - this is good for integrating Kanban into some object's Record page.

• Click "Next" button to go to second step of wizard

• Select Kanban Color Theme

• Enter Kanban name

• Populate description (if it is necessary):

• Click "Next" button and go to step 3.

At the next step you can set up initial Kanban configuration.

For Standard Kanban:

• Select a Source Object

• Then select a field which values will be represented by columns and updated by card dragging (if you use default actions) in "Group By" picklist

• Optionally select a field in "Summarize by" if you want kanban to show totals calculated for proper values in the footer of each column:

For Child Kanban:

• Select a Parent Object (which record page kanban will be added into)

• Then select a Child Object (which records will be represented by kanban cards)

• Then select a field which values will be represented by columns and updated by card dragging (if you use default actions) in "Group By" picklist

• Optionally select a field in "Summarize by" if you want kanban to show totals calculated for proper values in the footer of each column:

• Click "Next" button. The rest of Wizard will be the same for both Standard and Child kanban types

• At the next step select necessary values of "Group By" field in the "Available Values" section and click "►" button to add them to the "Add columns for" section. Select all of them, or those which should be represented in columns:

• Rearrange them as you wish with "▲" and "▼" buttons. Note: topmost selected value will correspond to leftmost column:

• Leave "Allow users to move cards between columns" toggler on if you want to turn on card dragging and pre-configure kanban with standard action that will allow cards to be updated correspondingly to columns.

• Click "Next" button

• Select fields to be shown on card compact layout and rearrange them, if necessary.

Note: topmost field will be used as card header, that will be always visible on card layout (actual for collapsible cards)

Note: you should select at least one field, and not more than 12. But you can add more when configure card manually later.

• If you want to show field names as labels in the card, leave "Display field labels on Kanban cards" toggler on, otherwise turn it off to show only field values.

• Click "Next" button

• At hte following step you can ask AI to generate color ideas. See example page to know more.

• At the last step you can review your Kanban brief summary information

• Click "Save" or "Back" button (if you want to correct options):

• If you do not want to open new kanban in the advanced editor, you can turn "Launch Advanced Kanban Builder After Wizard Completion" toggler off - in this case you will go to kanbans tab after saving.

• If you leave toggler on, after clicking "Save" you will go to standard Kanban editor:

Columns with conditions will be set correspondingly to the creation wizard:

Card will have elements added correspondingly to the creation wizard.

First (topmost) of them will be used as card header and has no label by default. Other fields will be added (with or without labels) corresponding to field name:

Card also will have main layout set with body, header title, and footer button with standard "View record" handler:

Note: card dragging will not be automatically set, if you turn off "Allow users to move cards between columns" toggler.
